Late Interception Takes Luster Off Jets Solid First Half

So far the Jets D and McCown are up to the task.  McCown found Seferian-Jenkins for a 1 yard TD pass and later connected again with Jeremy Kerley for a 30 yard TD. The blemish, and it was a big one, was late interception by The Patriots’ Malcolm Butler with under a minute that led to a Touchdown.

To that point the defense had limited Tom Brady to 91 yards and picked him off once. But Brady marched down the field after the interception  and hit Rob Gronkowski to tie the score at 14.

McCown and the Jets must limit the turnovers. As soon as he made one Brady and the Patriots pounced.

Conor’s Corner

By Conor Green

Week Four of the NFL season featured more of what we’ve come to expect: Parity. We’re only four weeks into the season and have just one remaining undefeated team. That being the Chiefs, who are 4-0 atop the AFC West.

They did make it tough on themselves.  The Jets were cruising along with a 20-10 lead behind a solid rushing day and were looking to put the game away in the 4th quarter when Josh McCown threw the ball behind him.

Jets Update: Running Game Is The Story

As I mentioned in my opening article, if you open a hole for Bilal Powell he’ll get you some yards. That’s exactly what he did in the first half rushing for 120 yards on 8 carries.  Granted the Jags gave up on the play where Powell got off the turf and ran for 75 yards but credit him for a heads up play. The Jets could have gone into the half with the lead after a brilliantly timed fake punt but Catanzaro missed the 45 yard field goal.

And as I write this, the Jets rookie RB Elijah McGuire just ran for a 69 yard TD. The Jets are soaring on the ground today!
