On May 27th, Francisco Mejia a 20 year-old catcher for the Lake County Captains, had 2 hits against the Fort Wayne TinCaps, and he hasn’t stopped hitting since. Now a member of the Lynchburg Hillcats, Mejia ran his hitting streak to 48 games Tuesday night, the longest in modern era minor league baseball (1963) history.
